Pieces of Eight

I wish I had more time but here are my thoughts on the last eight games.  First, it's always great to come back from the West Coast (or anywhere) with a winning record, however, we were stranding WAY too many guys on base.  I know you can't get everyone in all the time but it was getting ridiculous regardless of wins.  There were a few games where we left guys stranded in double digits--not good.  Since then though we've come home and look good.  There has been some very good base-running as of late (Thank you Jeff Cox).  Ever since Uribe's take out of the Tiger's 2nd baseman a while back I've noticed everyone doing all they can to break up the double play and for the most part it's been working.

The last couple nights have been VERY exciting and the cool thing other than this May weather is that the rallies have come later in the game.  Wed. we scored 5 in the 6th and last night the two runs we needed came in the 8th.  Runs are coming from not only the long ball but also via singles and doubles---FINALLY!! The pitching has been getting it done and last night I think the pitching staff may have even faced the minimum.

Kenny's trades look great right now (CARLOS QUENTIN, Masset and Danks and the list goes on) and the guys made Ozzie look like a genius last night.  Toby Hall was three for three last night--yes, Toby Hall.  Let's keep it rollin' through the weekend boys.  I want more fireworks!
