  • Site update

I know a lot of you have been wondering what the hell has been going on around here. I haven't changed the site in months. Hell, it probably has been years. I think it is time to expand. Here is what I mean: In the next few weeks I will be upgrading our system to the latest version of Community Server...

  • Go vote for Jose on ESPN.com

I'm busy goofing around with my new MacBook...so don't hate on my for not getting a great post up tonight about another White Sox victory. I will point out that we got the 2 wins that I expected from this 4 game series against the Rangers. I hate to admit that splitting the series is all I expected out...

  • Bears Post Season RoundTable

I've been busy these past few days updating the site and attempting to fix some bugs. It hasn't been fun. I've had my head in the debugger for hours. A debugger, for all you non-dorks, is like an x-ray machine for the website. When something broke on Carson Palmer, the doctors sent him to the MRI room...

  • Having problems on the site

A few of you have noticed that the site has been having some problems. I have been trying to do my best to use this lull in sports (between the end of the Bears season and the beginning of the baseball season) to repair the site and to finally migrate it over to it's new domain: http://www.chicagosportsblogs...

  • A Firefox trick - sports related.

As I was typing away on my previous post, I realized that if you type the name of an NFL player into the URL address and hit enter - Firefox takes you to that player's NFL.com profile. Wow. How cool is that?

  • TicketMaster decides I can't go to the ALCS.

I have to warn everyone here -- I'm geeking out a bit on this post. Bear with me. Yesterday, the White Sox were selling tickets to the ALCS. It is a bit premature, but I'm guessing the sports gods understand logistics well enough not to jinx us for this act of hubris. My entire lunch break was dedicated...

  • The amazing world of IT Professionals (that's an oxymoron)

The timing of this post by James Steele is amazing. My wife and I just spent last night comparing notes on this craptacular practice. It has manifested itself in every job either of us have ever had. (ok almost every job) It becomes laughable how similar our stories are. They all boil down to this BB...

  • Some tricked out Geekness

Warning: I am geeking it out on this post. If you want some average, not very detailed, but classy coverage of the Chicago Sports landscape, find it in this feed, or this one. I wanted to mention a few sites that I have been visiting a lot lately. The first is, the new maps site by Google. There has...

  • New Article posted

I had an article I was writing a few weeks ago. It just sat un-posted until today. Go read it if you need a break from all this spectacular sports coverage. It's a typical rant about “How Technology Fails Me”. It's another wish list of stuff I expect technology to improve.

  • Comment Spam

We got hammered with comment spam this weekend -- so as a result I am turning off comments until I figure out a way to stop these idiots from flooding us. It might actually be time to upgrade the blog engine, once and for all. If any of you guys out there have a suggestion on how to stop comment spam...
